ASTM A500 tubing contains mainly car on steel with particular alloying elements like manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and copper. The content differs with the grade but typically contains up to 0.26% of carbon, up to 1.35% of manganese, and minor amounts of others. The mechanical properties consist of a minimum yield strength of 46,000 psi (315 MPa) for Grade A, 50,000 psi (345 MPa) for Grade B, and 60,000 psi (415 MPa) for Grade C. Its tensile strength is between 58,000 to 70,000 psi (400–485 MPa), providing superior durability and resistance.
