450 BHN sheets and plates are carbon-containing abrasion-resistant steel of the following composition: carbon (0.20-0.30%), manganese, silicon, chromium, nickel, and molybdenum, contributing to hardness as well as toughness. They exhibit high mechanical properties in terms of a tensile strength of 1400 MPa, a yield strength of 1200 MPa, and an elongation of 10-12%.
